Michael Phelan – President and CEO
Michael Phelan has played a critical role in shaping SevOne’s go to market strategy and vision, leading the founding team as President and CEO since September 2006. Mr. Phelan secured the funding and built an experienced, world-class team that has enabled SevOne to become one of the fastest growing, disruptive technology companies in the Infrastructure Management market. Under Mr. Phelan’s leadership, SevOne has won numerous awards and has grown into a profitable, customer-focused company that is changing the way service providers and global enterprises think about network performance management.
Prior to SevOne, Mr. Phelan served as Founder/President of StorNet, Inc., and CEO of SoluNet, Inc. He founded StorNet, Inc. in 1990, building the company into a leading national consulting and storage networking integration firm, which enjoyed 11 years of consecutive double-digit growth and profitability, exceeding $80 million in annual revenues. In 2001, Mr. Phelan was named one of the Top 20 Visionaries in the storage networking market by CMS VAR Business magazine. He has been an active member of the Philadelphia Chapter of YPO/WPO since 1997.
Bruce Johnson – Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Bruce Johnson joined SevOne in March 2008 and currently serves as the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Johnson is a CPA with over 35 years financial and administrative experience working with both private and public companies. Prior to joining SevOne, Mr. Johnson served as Executive Vice President and CFO for eResearchTechnology, Inc. from 2000 to 2006 and for N2K, Inc. from 1988 to 1999.
Mr. Johnson has a BS in Accounting from St. Joseph's University and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.
Vess Bakalov – Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
As one of the co-founders of SevOne, Vess Bakalov serves as Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for leading the company’s product development and design, and overall vision of the technology architecture.
Prior to SevOne, Mr. Bakalov served in a number of senior technical positions at BankOne, including Assistant Vice President and Network Architect. He also led the network management team for the Credit Card Services division of the company, which was the largest issuer of VISA credit cards in the U.S. During his time at BankOne, Mr. Bakalov also taught undergraduate and graduate courses as an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of Delaware.
Mr. Bakalov began his career as a technical advisor for a fast-growing CLEC. There, he led the design and engineering effort behind that company's first DSL deployment. He was also in charge of architecting and developing the network management and instrumentation strategy for the firm.
Tanya Bakalov – Senior Vice President of Operations
Tanya Bakalov oversees the day-to-day operations at SevOne and she is driving the company's performance on demand cloud strategy. Prior to joining SevOne, Mrs. Bakalov served as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte and Touche, LLP, where she worked in the IT risk management and assurance division, consulting with many Fortune 500 and blue chip companies in the technology, insurance and manufacturing industries. Mrs. Bakalov also served as Chief Accountant for a large private food services company where she led the implementation of a new ERP system.
A Certified Public Accountant, Mrs. Bakalov holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Delaware, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Bill Conners – Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Business Development
As a seasoned sales executive, Bill Conners serves as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development and is responsible for SevOne's worldwide sales and business development strategy and operations.
Prior to joining SevOne, Mr. Conners was SVP of WW Sales and Business Development at Gypsii, a geo-social networking company, where his global team earned the business of Samsung, LG, Nokia, Navteq, Sony Ericsson, China Unicom, China Mobile, and many others. Prior to Gypsii, Mr. Conners was the senior vice president of business development for Entrust, a leading provider of digital certificates, PKI security, and encryption software. Entrust acquired Mr. Conners’ prior employer, Business Signatures in 2006, where he was responsible for all key business relationships, including the partnership with Entrust. Mr. Conners also served as senior vice president of business development at SMARTS, a provider of end-to-end IT services management and was instrumental in helping them to be acquired by EMC in 2004. While at SMARTS, Mr. Conners managed key strategic relationships with global organizations including EMC, Cisco, and Unisys. Prior to SMARTS, he served as COO of eCal Corporation and held executive sales management positions with Netscape Communications, Sony Corporation, AHAA, and InSoft. Mr. Conners holds a BA in Economics from Villanova University.
Brian Harvell – Vice President of Product Engineering
Brian Harvell joined SevOne in 2011 as Vice President of Product Engineering where he is responsible for leading the product engineering team, and working with the CTO and architecture team to turn the SevOne vision into reality. Mr. Harvell is a seasoned executive with over 15 years of industry experience in all aspects of Software Development LifeCycle processes and Operations Management. Mr. Harvell has a proven track record in solving highly complex business problems, and a great capacity to drive results across functional groups.
He most recently served as Executive Director, Infrastructure Management for Comcast where he was responsible for the Infrastructure Management team which provides operations and engineering function for databases, systems, applications and storage. Prior to Comcast, he served as Technical Director for AOL where he led a large group of engineers, and technical managers across multiple geographic regions, built an India-based development and operations teams from the ground up, and was responsible for the technical direction and operation of the Network Operations system and network management infrastructure. Other previous roles include Principal Systems Administrator for America Online, and Unix Security Engineer for Philip Morris.
