Troubleshooting Performance Problems

When there is a “problem” or a user complains about the network and their ability to do their job, the ability to effectively troubleshoot is only as good as the quality of the data that has been collected.

Key elements:

  • Real-Time System Wide Visibility – SevOne provides a number of Network Overview Reports including the ability to run a report and see the most utilized interfaces across your entire global infrastructure.  With our peer-to-peer architecture, we enable complete visibility into every device, regardless of where you log onto the web-based SevOne console.
  • Collecting data from all available sources including SNMP, IP SLA, NetFlow, and more.
  • Keeping that data in its raw format for as long as you require with 12 months as a minimum expectation.
  • Building instant reports with multiple data points represented from multiple sources.  For example, a routers utilization reported alongside latency data and the CPU utilization of servers all on one report.  SevOne provides this with our Instant Graph capability which gives you the ability to pull any performance metric from any device or object that we monitor and build the view of the data that you require.
  • After identifying a spike in utilization or a deviation in performance levels from their normal range, Network Operators require quick access to flow-based data to determine what type of traffic caused the spike. SevOne leads the market in our ability to quickly report on any performance spike with the associated traffic that traversed the network at that exact point in time. Our integration of SNMP data with NetFlow data provides immediate visibility to the type of traffic, protocol and destination of the traffic.
