High Frequency Polling

Standard Polling Capabilities

SevOne’s highly optimized polling engine ensures minimal impact on the network while gathering the vital statistics that you need to effectively manage your IT Infrastructure. Our multithreaded polling engine defaults to polling devices at five minute intervals, and it can be set to poll network devices at one minute intervals and critical interfaces at one second intervals. Polling takes place from all appliances in the distributed cluster in parallel, ensuring that all polling intervals are met.  SevOne can store raw data for a minimum of 12 months to provide you complete historical accuracy for when you need to review past performance levels and prove best execution, and trend and plan for future growth.

High Frequency Polling

Many of our Financial Services customers also use specialized packet capture tools to monitor their High Frequency Trading operations at the millisecond level. These low latency tools are typically deployed on SPAN or TAP ports for a small number of network interfaces or circuits, and they require special attention from the operations and business teams. SevOne complements these low latency monitoring tools with the ability to monitor network and server devices at one minute intervals and critical network interfaces at one second intervals. The benefit of using SevOne is the ability to monitor 1000s of interfaces via SNMP or NetFlow, without having to deploy probes and specialized systems. This provides complete flexibility on what is being monitoring and reported on, at the scale of the entire network. SevOne can also receive and monitor traps from these tools and provide an integrated troubleshooting workflow from a single console interface. This ability to monitor, analyze and troubleshoot at scale enables our Financial Services customers to easily and cost-effectively get system-wide visibility,, in real-time of their entire network and high frequency trading operations, from any SevOne console.
