Performance Management Database

Performance DashboardA Real-Time PMDB

The SevOne solution incorporates a Performance Management Database (PMDB) that allows for the collection of all your performance data into a linearly scalable, highly distributed database. This real-time PMDB capability provides the ability to report on key performance indicators across multiple sites, business units, applications and other silos of your IT infrastructure. Having one accurate and system-wide view of your performance reduces the number of systems you need to maintain; and it accelerates troubleshooting and problem resolution by eliminating the need for viewing multiple consoles for networks, servers, application performance, VoIP, response times and outside data sources that you wish to collect.

SevOne’s innovative database schema and structure allow for the efficient collection and presentation of all your performance data, including the ability to import 3rd party bulk performance statistics, including from Element Management Systems or any 3rd party time-stamped data.

Third Party Data and Bulk Performance Statistics

SevOne imports data from application agents or other third party Element Management Systems (EMS) tools to include them in SevOne reports and instant graphs. By using the SevOne API, systems integrator and customers can import bulk performance statistics or other “deferred data” objects and put them into our reports. Once imported, this third party data can be trended, baselined and monitored like all other polled data in the SevOne real-time PMDB.

Use Case of Third Party Data – One SevOne customer exports time stamped data with the number of stock transactions they process per second. SevOne reports on this data in a network utilization report to show the relationship of this deferred data alongside the performance of the network. This provides the customer a powerful way to monitor, report, and trend the performance of the network alongside the number of stock transactions processed per second.

Data Retention

SevOne stores all of the polled data that we collect for a minimum of 12 months with our standard appliance configuration. This long term, onboard, data storage allows you to run historical reports that will not show averaged data but rather all of the polled data in its original state.  This raw data provides greater accuracy in our capacity projections and baseline calculations.

SevOne does roll up NetFlow report template data at one minute intervals by default, and we allow users to configure the intervals and to determine how much non-aggregated NetFlow data we store.
