Announcing SevOne’s NEXT16 Speakers

It may be the dog days of summer, but SevOne’s annual NEXT conference, held each fall, is fast approaching. This year’s NEXT conference will take place in Washington D.C. from November 1-3 and bring together technologists from all over the world to discuss trends impacting IT today, including SD-WAN, SDDC, IoT, and more.

Jack Sweeney

Chief Executive Officer

Jack Sweeney serves as SevOne’s Chief Executive Officer, overseeing the company’s strategic direction. In addition to his role at SevOne, Jack is an Operating Partner for Bain Capital Ventures. He provides guidance and strategy as a member of ten boards of directors, four of which he serves as chairman. Prior to joining SevOne, Jack has served as CEO of six different companies, creating a combined $1.3 billion in value. Jack says what has contributed most to his success is learning from every mistake he’s made. Jack graduated with a B.S. in Management from Bridgewater State University, and graduated from the Stanford Executive Management Program.


Jim Melvin

Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer

Jim Melvin is SevOne’s Chief Marketing Officer and brings over 20 years of leadership experience in software, hardware, and SaaS businesses. Second to mentoring and coaching his team, Jim most enjoys positioning products to best serve a market. He’s passionate about technology and its ability to change businesses and drive innovation. Jim holds a B.S. in computer engineering and an M.S. in management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has been awarded three U.S. patents in fault tolerant systems design.


Vess Bakalov

Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer

Vess Bakalov leads SevOne's product development and design teams and provides strategic direction and vision for the overall technology architecture. He created SevOne with the future of digital infrastructure in mind after working with legacy solutions during his time as a network architect at BankOne. He holds the patent for Scalable Performance Management System as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware.

Tony Lapolito

Vice President, Product Management

As Vice President, Product Management, Tony Lapolito oversees SevOne’s product roadmap to ensure customer needs are translated into the product portfolio. Tony is passionate about identifying key markets and customer issues, and uses that knowledge to create product strategy solutions to solve business problems. Prior to SevOne, Tony spent over 20 years in the telecommunications industry in various roles.

Brandon Hale

Product Manager, Advanced Networking

Brandon Hale joined SevOne as a Product Manager in spring 2014. An expert in design and implementation of enterprise network monitoring and management solutions, he spent the last two years running the SevOne platform at Zurich North America. He is also responsible for nationwide VoIP conversation.

Brian Zeman

Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Service

Brian Zeman, SevOne’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Service, has over 15 years of broad operating experience, scaling early-stage businesses, and leading large global organizations. His previous experience includes serving as COO for FlipFront, as well as P&L responsibility for Global Services and Product Operations at RSA, the security division of EMC. Brian holds a B.S. in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Ed Zaval

Vice President, Global Services

Ed Zaval is SevOne’s Vice President of Global Services. In this role, he provides leadership for SevOne’s product support delivery, professional services, customer training, and overall customer satisfaction. Ed is a career-long services professional and customer advocate, most recently responsible for Global Services at Coriant and Sycamore Networks, suppliers of Service Provider networking solutions.

Bill Craver

Vice President, Technical Marketing

Bill Craver leads the Global System Engineering team and has recently moved onto the Technical Marketing team. He has been with SevOne for almost six years and has over 20 years of experience in application and performance monitoring. Prior to SevOne, he led pre sales engineering teams at other performance monitoring companies.

Dave Hegenbarth

Director, Technical Marketing

Dave Hegenbarth joined SevOne in October 2007 as employee #6. Having served many roles in the company from Systems Engineer to leading the systems engineering team, Dave now serves as the Director of Technical Marketing. Prior to SevOne, Dave worked for Cisco Systems, BayNetworks, and a large financial institution based in Wilmington, DE.
