Cisco Medianet Performance Monitor Verification Testing
Being a Cisco Developer Network Partner is key to our business. It ensures that the SevOne platform is collecting and instrumenting all of the vital performance data available from Cisco's vast array of networking technologies. Performance data from Cisco's networking equipment provides real-time visibility that customers demand. To read more about our Cisco relationship, please refer to our partner datasheet, Managing Your Cisco Network Performance. Also, Patrica Costa, a Cisco product manager on the medianet team, was kind enough to write this blog: SevOne Performance Appliance Solution (SevOne PAS™) supports Cisco Performance Monitor.
One of the items on our checklist was to complete interoperability testing with Cisco. We checked that off our list this week and announced that our SevOne Performance Appliance Solution (SevOne PASTM) has successfully completed interoperability testing with Cisco Medianet Performance Monitor V2.0.
With support for collection and reporting for Medianet Performance Monitor via Flexible NetFlow and Medianet IPSLA Video Operations, SevOne enables greater visibility into the performance of applications that can consume bandwidth and effect services.
While we were at it, we were able to use the all-in-one capabilities of SevOne to help resolve a performance issue that was impacting the VMs in the RTP lab. Working with our Cisco colleagues, we used the same SevOne system we deployed for IVT testing and quickly turned on collection of key performance indicators directly from VMware vCenter. As it turns out, with SevOne we found that a key drive in the SAN was under performing, impacting the VM's that communicated with it. We take our partnerships seriously and we were more than happy to help the Cisco team get their lab back to peak performance!
The Cisco Developer Network unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. As a Registered Developer, we offer a complementary product offering and are collaborating with Cisco to meet the needs of joint customers.
With offerings such as the SevOne PAS, customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco Compatible business applications, devices, or services that can enhance the capabilities, performance, and management of their Cisco network.
