Don’t Miss SevOne’s First-Ever User Conference This Fall
SevOne is hosting its first-ever User Conference this fall from October 21 to 22 on the campus of the University of Delaware.
Since it’s our first user-driven event, we thought long and hard about what to call this conference.
We tapped the creative minds of our employees, and agreed on NEXT 15 | Innovation at Scale - a name that speaks to a number of our concepts, including forward momentum, our dedication to quality, and the culture of innovation that exists at SevOne and within each of our customer’s organizations
The backdrop of the conference also tells a story – and one we’re proud of. Founders Vess and Tanya Bakalov met at the University of Delaware as undergrads. In 2005, Vess – now SevOne’s CTO – left his job to start the company out of his Wilmington apartment with two University of Delaware interns.
The company eventually grew out of its garage setting, and relocated to a more “typical” office building in Wilmington. This fall, a decade later, the story will come full circle when SevOne opens its new office on UD’s Star Campus.
What to expect
Customers and SevOne users – from beginner to advanced – are encouraged to attend this inaugural event where we’ll share the company vision and roadmaps, share best practices among our customers, create community relationships between our customers, access product training, and, of course, have fun.
The two-day conference will feature keynotes, SevOne sessions, customer sessions, SevOne training, meals, a welcome reception, a networking cocktail hour and a gala event.
The team working to bring NEXT 15 together is working to get our customers – large and small – to speak at the event about how SevOne is a boon to the IoT, SDN and NFV realms.
Networking will be paramount at the event, says event organizer Chris Rohter. Customers, for instance, will be able to hear from and learn how other customers are preparing to monitor SDN environments. It’s a time to see what other innovative and interesting things our customers are doing with SevOne.
“We want to create an environment that fosters networking,” Rohter said. “That is one of our main goals.”
Many of our customers are taking advantage of the SevOne platform in a myriad of ways, so they’ll be showing off how our combination of metrics, flows and logs improves the overall visibility of their infrastructure.
Keynotes will be delivered by SevOne leaders CEO Jack Sweeney and CTO Vess Bakalov, as well as high profile customer speakers, and industry luminaries such as Christian Renaud, senior networking analyst at 451 Research. SevOne’s roadmap for the future will be discussed during both days of the event. We’ll also spend some time talking about our vision.
Our own product experts will lead a series of SevOne sessions during the multi-day event. These sessions will provide attendees with a range of practical and forward-looking content.
Customer sessions will be held, as well, which will provide voice-of-the-customer insights that highlight unique use cases, challenges and trends. Attendees will hear innovation stories, advanced analytics, how to scale to new limits and much more.
Hands-on training sessions will give attendees invaluable SevOne knowledge in log analytics, performance metrics, adding devices, and creating dashboards.
The two-day conference will be held at the University of Delaware, which is highly accessible from major metropolitan cities like New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore. Situated between Philadelphia and Baltimore, the conference hopes to attract West coast and international customers, as well.
The events team is upping the ante for the presentations, opting for couches and lounge-style seats at the university instead of traditional seating. The social calendar, Rohter said, also adds to the event’s charm. There will be opportunities aplenty for networking over drinks, as well as an optional group jog around the university campus Thursday morning and a tour of SevOne’s new office building.
“Interacting with other customers who are innovating in today’s market – that’s huge. To mingle and meet with them to hear what’s working and what’s not – that’s a big focus for us,” Rohter said.
Additionally, the event is closed to the public, which, we think, protects the integrity of our customers, allowing everyone to share their thoughts and experiences openly.
Our customers have made an investment in SevOne for good reason. We think bringing our customers together will benefit everyone in attendance.
