From the Trading Room Floor to the Tower of London with SevOne
Earlier this month Holonomix and SevOne were joined by key customers and prospects at the Tower of London for a breakfast briefing on the importance of modern application-aware Network Performance Management systems to users in the financial services sector.
Despite the importance of the network infrastructure to financial services organisations, network administrators don't always get the recognition they deserve. Moreover, the network is often blamed for problems that originate elsewhere.
Set within the walls of the Tower, (and following a full English breakfast) myself and SevOne's EMEA team set about exploring the network management issues most relevant to the financial services sector and the role that SevOne can play in helping to address them.
The discussion was lively and focused on the issues that mattered most to the financial powerhouses represented in the room; from tracking the normality of a network with baselines to the importance of one second high frequency polling between the trading floor, data centre and the exchange systems. In high volume trading environments, every second counts. Real-time performance monitoring helps ensure that key financial transactions always have ample access to network and system resources.
It is through sessions like this, listening to our customers and reacting to the needs of their industry, that we develop the SevOne solution to give our customers a competitive edge. It was great to see so many of our customers and their peers together and we were delighted that so many were able to turn up, contribute and help make the event the great success that it was. Thanks for everyone who was able to attend and we hope to see you all again soon! Following the discussion, we were treated to a tour of the grounds, taking in the spectacular White Tower, Medieval Palace and even the Crown Jewels.
