SevOne introduces SDN Monitoring Solution 2.0 for Cisco ACI
Blog, Events & Press
Performance monitoring company SevOne today released version 2.0 of its enterprise software-defined networking (SDN) monitoring system for Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) environments.
SevOne integrated its SDN monitoring package with Cisco ACI last year to gain data, metrics, and logs from the ACI controller and other ACI network elements. It now extends visibility to data center assets such as firewalls and load balancers and across the campus to wide area networks and branch offices.
Boston-based network monitoring company SevOne announced this week the addition of 10 new monitoring dashboards to help track Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure-based environments.
Network analytics provider SevOne is moving to the cloud to provide enterprises with visualization tools they need to keep multivendor software-based networks humming.
The SevOne Data Platform, introduced Tuesday, is a cloud service that translates raw data into actionable insights to enable networks to meet the agility requirements of digital organizations, the company says.
SevOne has shifted its formerly appliance-based management platform to the cloud. With its SevOne Data Platform, SevOne intends to bring management and analytics to where enterprises are working in the cloud, according to Jim Melvin, SevOne's CMO.
"Fundamentally, what we've done is we've taken our appliance-based software and we've containerized it," Melvin said. "We've made it so it can run in just about anything you want it to run in."
SDxCentral, a B2B tech media company focused exclusively on delivering news, research, and analysis on software-defined infrastructure markets recently covered the release of SevOne Data Platform.
Performance monitoring company SevOne today launched its first cloud-based platform to help organizations maintain visibility over cloud-centric technologies like network functions virtualization (NFV), software-defined networking (SDN), and software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN).
Performance monitoring and service assurance vendor SevOne launched its enterprise software-defined networking (SDN) monitoring system to help organizations gain visibility into Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) environments.
The SevOne Enterprise SDN Monitoring package uses its existing service assurance platform to gain data, metrics, and logs from Cisco’s ACI controller and other network elements running on ACI. These include firewalls, load balancers, application flow, and network performance.
As the number of software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) deployments is expected to increase dramatically in the next 12 months, monitoring the performance of those technologies will be crucial. However, it won’t be crucial enough to carve out its own market, said Current Analysis Analyst Mike Fratto.
In fact, many SD-WAN vendors already offer some sort of monitoring capabilities in the product itself, or it is integrated with another vendor’s monitoring system.
Red Hat selected SevOne because it has a service assurance offer around NFV, said Jim Melvin, chief marketing officer at SevOne.
