SevOne SD-WAN Monitoring Tool Adds Support for Versa Networks
SevOne added support for Versa Networks’ SD-WAN on its SD-WAN monitoring tool. The monitoring tool already supports both VMware’s NSX SD-WAN by VeloCloud platform and Cisco’s SD-WAN service based on Viptela technology.
While SevOne can make its SD-WAN monitoring service work for any SD-WAN vendor, the partnerships with Versa, Cisco, and VMware are out-of-box offerings. SevOne’s monitoring service is built into the each of the vendor’s SD-WAN product fabric to offer network services over the multi-tenant SD-WANs.
While each of SevOne’s SD-WAN vendor partners have their own management tool that comes with the product, Jim Melvin, SevOne SVP of marketing and corporate development, said that having an out-of-of the box management tool gives greater visibility.
“They can’t see the fabric of the service provider ahead of time, and they can’t see any of the other elements that are required in the service level view. That’s why they look to someone like SevOne to provide that breadth of insight so they can help the customers through the service migration.”
The SD-WAN monitoring software is based on SevOne’s Data Platform technology. Software collects both real-time and historic data to give real-time insight across the whole service delivery path. It monitors existing network assets including enterprise, campus, and branch-office WiFi, software-defined data centers (SDDC), and public clouds.
The ability to monitor the network’s existing assets makes the tool instrumental in enterprises that are moving from existing MPLS networks to SD-WAN. It provides a single-pane-of-glass view into the entire WAN infrastructure.
SevOne is targeting managed service providers (MSPs) with the monitoring tool. Adding more vendor partners to its mix enables its MSP partners to offer multi-vendor support. One of SevOne’s largest MSP partnerships is with Verizon Enterprise Solutions.
“They’re [Verizon] looking for the best from us and our partnership with the vendor, like Versa, to give them the starting points of what they should be monitoring, and then they’re looking for the ability to customize that with their workflow,” said Melvin. SevOne SD-WAN monitoring offers this customization, enabling MSPS, like Verizon to optimize the environment for each of their customers.
Currently, SevOne only has these three out-of-box vendor offerings, but it plans to support additional vendors soon. According to Melvin, the company has a number of vendors already committed that the company will announce in the coming months.
