SevOne Unveils Cloud-Based Data Platform

Press Coverage

SDxCentral, a B2B tech media company focused exclusively on delivering news, research, and analysis on software-defined infrastructure markets recently covered the release of SevOne Data Platform.

Performance monitoring company SevOne today launched its first cloud-based platform to help organizations maintain visibility over cloud-centric technologies like network functions virtualization (NFV), software-defined networking (SDN), and software-defined wide area networking (SD-WAN).

The SevOne Data Platform is a module platform that was built on top of a data engine, said Brian Promes, senior director of product marketing at SevOne. The modules are meant to simplify the ability to extract and share machine data across multivendor environments.

The data engine module is the main component of the platform and allows carriers, service providers, and enterprises to collect massive amounts of raw data.

Another module — data insight — transforms this collected data from virtual and hybrid environments into customizable visualizations and shareable workflows.

“Our ability to create visualization at scale from a single set of data is a big differentiator for us because it breaks down the siloed workflows and data points in organizations,” Promes said.

Finally, SevOne’s data bus module enables customers to connect their network and infrastructure to data lakes, business intelligence packages, and automation controllers through real-time streams.

Previously, SevOne only offered an appliance-based platform for legacy infrastructures. While the earlier platform has the ability to gather and share data on an as-needed basis, it doesn’t have a data engine or the same real-time sharing capabilities across an entire organization.

However, certain modules of the new platform like data bus and data insight can be integrated into the appliance-based platform using application programming interfaces (APIs) for companies that have both legacy and software-defined technology.

SevOne’s customer base consists of large carriers, service providers, and enterprises like Verizon Enterprise, Google, eBay, Comcast, and HBO.
