SevOne Joins TM Forum Catalyst Demonstration of Multi-Cloud SDN-NFV Orchestration

Press Release

SevOne Provides Performance Visibility of the SDN-NFV Infrastructure

WILMINGTON, DE – December 9, 2014SevOne, provider of the world's most scalable infrastructure performance management solution, today announced it will be part of TM Forum's Lifecycle Management for Multi-Cloud Networks Catalyst Project. Championed by AT&T, and working with Microsoft, along with Cisco, Ericsson, and SevOne, this Catalyst will be demonstrated at TM Forum Digital Disruption 2014 held December 8 to 11, in San Jose, California.

The Catalyst will result in an integrated architecture to address the major aspects of interconnecting real-world private and public clouds. It aims to advance the lifecycle management of multi-cloud systems composed of virtual networks, virtual machines, and virtualized network functions (VNFs) while handling service-level agreements involving VNFs and MPLS WAN gateways.

Network Function Virtualization and Software-Defined Networks are on the path to be the norm for organizations worldwide. Gigaom Research forecasts that in the next five years NFV will be the mainstream option for Service Providers deploying cloud and network architectures, further emphasizing the importance of working with the TM Forum Catalyst.

“Multi-cloud is the reality of tomorrow’s infrastructure,” said Ken Dilbeck, Vice President of Collaboration Research and Development for TM Forum. “This Catalyst allows us to rapidly explore the key architecture, integration, and orchestration issues associated with the implementation of NFV and SDN, and collectively develop pragmatic solutions to them.”

"End-to-end multi-cloud performance visibility across SDN-NFV infrastructures is critical to enabling real-world private and public cloud deployments," said Eric Troup CTO, Microsoft, World Wide Communications and Media Industries. "We are pleased to work with SevOne as part of this TM Forum Catalyst project."

“We’re excited to be part of this TM Forum Catalyst providing performance visibility of the Multi-Cloud SDN-NFV infrastructure,” stated Keith Bartlett, Vice President of Corporate Development for SevOne. “Collecting all the data across the SDN-NFV infrastructure and reporting on it in real time, sets the stage for how network performance data can be shared with SDN-NFV control systems for continuous optimization as this market evolves.”
